Columbus puts its statehouse at the center of the drawing and refuses it a dome. The flat drum on top is the detail that makes this skyline impossible to confuse with any other, and the line gives it the whole middle.
What is in the drawing
A tower with a slim spire and a tapered crown opens the left above a small plain box, and a taller tower rises behind it finished in two rounded lobes. The center is the statehouse: a long low building carried on a row of loops, with a flat drum cupola set squarely on its roof and no dome above it. To the right the drawing climbs into a tight cluster of towers, one pair notched at the crown, another stepping down in stages, and it closes on a wide arcaded building with a scalloped front.
Mug or canvas
This carries the most ink of the ten at nearly twelve percent, and it is spread the full width rather than massed at one end. At 2.28 it is wider than the mug band, so it wraps completely and there is no blank stretch anywhere on the cup. That density is why it is the strongest mug in the batch. On canvas the long colonnade rewards the larger sizes, since the row of loops beneath it turns from a texture into individual arches somewhere around the middle of the ladder.
